Weekend #2

Ohhhh my...this weekend was amazing!

Friday I basically stuck to myself. I slept and worked on my sleep pattern. Saturday I was supposed to run errands but when I woke up I felt a gleam of cleaning in my eye. I set to work first in my room, then to the kitchen which quickly led to baking. I started my first sweet potato pie which only eventually led to my frustration that I did not have any brown sugar. To my rescue, there was a bag of cookie mix in the cabinet. Now, anyone who knows me and my cooking habits, I take after my grandmother. I cannot have the same bag of cookies everyone else has. I have to experiement and add something. So I did. I'm not telling what because these cookies were amazing. Unfortunately, I ruined them by burning them. I was trying to brown them, but I burned them. I was so very disappopinted.

By this time I was already late to meet my new friends for an afternoon at The Archieves. Oh! It was so much fun! I saw the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. We also saw exhibits about the presidents, then and now, and other entertaining things in our attempt to avert an awkward situation with two sweet gentlement who simply did not know how best to get to know females. (Men, please note, if you just met a female waiting in line for something set up a first date where you meet them somewhere at a certain time, don't ask for their number, email, or twitter account, they don't know you.)In the Archieve's store I saw a copy of the Emmancipate Proclaimation. It choked me up, truly. Knowing all that that document meant to me today. The opportunity I have now, that I would not have without that document. In addition, June 19th was the very next day. I bought it, of course, I think I will try to frame it and mount it in my room somewhere. After we left that historicalplace we went to the garden next door and had a few photo-opps and then relaxed in the water fountain.

That evening I went to a barbeque where I put my now broken and burnt cookies to use...sort of...it was terribly embarassing and they got taken off the table eventually. I didn't want to put them out in the first place so I was okay with that.

Sunday I slept again and enjoyed sometime with my Lord. That was it. It was wonderful :)
